Is God Pro-Choice or Pro-Life?

Abortion is often framed by two camps:  Pro-Choice, or Pro-Life.  Where does God stand on this important issue?

Everybody has free will, able to choose how we run our lives.  Christians say God gave humans free will and it is an inalienable right.  Does that include Pro-Choice?

Pro-Choice claims to give every woman the freedom to choose for herself, with no restrictions (or a few reasonable restrictions that can be overcome some way eg. delay, informed consent, affordable fee, licensed facility with all necessary skills and equipment in case something goes wrong, etc.). 

Pro-Choice could have been called "Pro-Death", but its supporters realized it would be an unsavory name, and a tougher sell than the implied freedom of Pro-Choice.

Abortion in USA

Roe Vs. Wade was a famous Texas court case that allowed a woman to get an abortion.  US State of Texas appealed to the US Supreme Court in 1971 (decision released in 1973), where the Court decided the government could not restrict abortions in the first trimester, could have reasonable restrictions in the 2nd trimester, and could ban abortions in the 3rd trimester unless it endangered the mother's life.

In 1992, the US Supreme Court case of Planned Parenthood Vs. Casey amended the Roe Vs. Wade decision from a trimester framework to one based on viability of the unborn baby in womb, and also reduced the Court's ability to intervene on cases filed against Federal or State laws on abortions.

It is estimated that 60 million surgical abortions have occurred in USA since Roe Vs. Wade.

In 2015, CDC reported:

638,169 legal induced abortions were reported to CDC from 49 reporting areas. The abortion rate for 2015 was 11.8 abortions per 1,000 women aged 15–44 years, and the abortion ratio was 188 abortions per 1,000 live births.

In addition to surgical abortions, since early 1960's there has been pharmaceutical-based emergency contraception (eg. heavy doses of birth control pills, "Plan B" pill, Morning After Pill, etc.) to stop a fertilized egg from implanting, and the Abortion Pill to abort newly implanted embryos.  In the USA, CDC reported in 2013 that for 2006 to 2010, 5.8 Million sexually active women used pharmaceuticals as an emergency contraception.  Reading between the lines, we can calculate approximately 9.2 Million babies may have been aborted in this 5 year period (ie. 1.84 million babies per year on average).

Abortion in Canada

In 1869, Canada made all abortions illegal. Illegal abortions and deaths of women prompted a relaxing of the law.  In 1969, abortions were permitted provided they were performed at some select hospitals if they were approved by the Therapeutic Abortion Committee at that hospital.  Feeling abortion approvals were too restrictive, Dr. Morgentaler started to focus his medical practice on abortions in 1968 by setting up his own private abortion clinic in Quebec.  He was repeatedly charged under Section 251 (4) of Canadian Criminal Code for performing illegal abortions in Quebec.  Juries of his peers continued to acquit him under the defense of necessity due to the plight of the women who sought an abortion but couldn't obtain one through the approved governmental system.  After 3 trials and 3 acquittal (and an Appeal Court overturning one of the jury acquittals, substituting a conviction for which Morgentaler spent 10 months in jail), the government gave up.  In 1976, the Quebec government announced there would be no further prosecution of bonafide doctors for illegal abortions in Quebec.

Morgentaler and other doctors spread the abortion movement to other provinces beginning in 1983, and were quickly charged for illegal abortions in Ontario.  In 1988, Canadian Supreme Court finally ruled that the Criminal Code was unconstitutional under Section 7 of the Charter of Rights (installed in 1982 at the repatriation of the Canadian Constitution).  No subsequent legislation on abortion has passed, so there is currently no enforceable federal laws against abortions in Canada.  Each individual Province or Territory have regulations controlling abortions.

In 2017, CIHI and ARCC reported there were 94,030 surgical abortions in Canada.  ARCC calculated there were 7.167 Million Canadian women of childbearing age (15 - 44), so the abortion rate was 13.1 per 1000 woman; 11% higher than the USA incidence rate for abortion.

Based on a study in British Columbia in 2005 for 1.4 million women of child bearing age (10 - 59 years old, total BC population of 3.9 million people), emergency contraception drugs were used 4 or more times per year by 0.9% of the women, 3 times per year for 2.1% of the women, twice per year by 10.4% of women, and only once per year by 86.6% of the women.   During the study, the 20 to 24 age group had the greatest use of EC's, at 38.9 treatments per 1000 women per year.  By making EC's available as over-the-counter drugs from pharmacists without prescription, there was up to a 47% increase in the use of EC's (45 - 49 age group).  It is estimated that 1,362 pregnancies were prevented by EC's in this 2 year study period in BC.  Extrapolating to all of Canada, we estimate 6,471 babies per year are killed by EC's.

Adding EC deaths to surgical abortions, we obtain a total death rate of 100,501 babies per year in Canada.

Today in Ontario (similar to other jurisdictions in Canada), emergency contraception prescriptions can be obtained at a doctor's clinic or pharmacy without doctor's prescription.  The Abortion Pill requires a doctor's examination, proof of pregnancy, and a doctor's prescription, then the cost of the pills are free (ie. paid for by Ontario's medical insurance program, OHIP).

Margaret Sanger, Planned Parenthood, & Abortion

Margaret Sanger was the USA-born woman who was the atheist, communist, neo-Malthusian, and eugenicist who founded Planned Parenthood.  Sanger was a strong proponent of negative eugenics, which aimed to improve human hereditary traits through social intervention by reducing the reproduction of those who were considered unfit (similar to the Nazi government).  Sanger published her eugenics book Women and the New Race in 1920.  She wanted to use birth control methods so as to "assist the race toward the elimination of the unfit".

Somehow, Margaret Sanger obtained the endorsement of Black community leaders, proposing birth control clinics in black communities, building the first one in Harlem, New York City in 1929.  Although Sanger was never reported as openly racist, she had close ties and sought support of the Klu Klux Klan and other racist individuals and groups, likely so as to maximize her personal mission of birth control by all available means.

In spite of all this, Margaret Sanger was strongly against abortion.  In 1916, when she opened her first birth control clinic, she was employing harsh rhetoric against abortion. Flyers she distributed to women exhorted them in all capitals:

"DO NOT KILL,   DO NOT TAKE LIFE,   BUT PREVENT"

and

"Abortion was the wrong way—no matter how early it was performed it was taking life; that contraception was the better way, the safer way—it took a little time, a little trouble, but it was well worth while in the long run, because life had not yet begun."

In spite of its founder's strong stance against abortion, today Planned Parenthood ("PP") is the #1 advocate for abortion throughout the world.

Abortion in the World

The first government to legalize abortion was in 1920 under the Communist Bolshevik government of the Soviet Union.

The Guttmacher Institute was founded by Planned Parenthood in 1968, and continues to have a close relationship with them.

The 2017 Guttmacher Institute study for WHO found that on a world-wide basis 55.6 Million abortions are performed every year, 45% of which were deemed unsafe (25 million unsafe abortions per year).  The incidence rate (abortions per 1000 women aged 15-44 years old) varied from 36 in developed countries, to 27 in developed countries.

WHO estimates 758 Million women are using contraceptive methods (non-abortion such as rythmn, condom, IUD, injection, implant, etc.) as of 2015, representing on average 64% of married or in-union women (as high as 84% for China, 75% for N. America, to as low as 17% for Eastern Africa).

Is Abortion OK at a Certain Stage of Pregnancy?

In all things, we should be logical and consistent.

When conception occurs, the DNA of the man mingles with the DNA of the woman so as to produce a unique individual; different, separate, distinct from both parents.  Once fertilized, the egg is no longer part of the mother; it is its own unique form of life.

We cut our hair and trim our toenails.  We surgically remove cancers from our bodies.  Hair has the same DNA as the body from which it was cut; same for toenails, and for most cancer tumors.  However, a fertilized egg is clearly different, as its DNA is different from the mother's DNA.  A fertilized egg cannot be dismissed as a "clump of cells".

Is a Fertilized Egg a Parasite in the Mother's Body?

Some misguided people think that a fertilized egg is like a parasite in the mother's body.  A parasite is defined as:

an organism living in, with, or on another organism in parasitism (an intimate association between organisms of two or more kinds especially : one in which a parasite obtains benefits from a host which it usually injures).

Parasitism is one species attacking a different species.  A fertilized egg is a different person, but is not a different species.  Therefore a fertilized egg inside its mother's body fails to meet the definition of parasitism.   Symbiosis is defined as the living together in a more or less intimate association or close union of two dissimilar organisms.  Symbiosis can be:

• Mutualism (where the organisms are mutually beneficial to one another)
• Commensalism (where only one organism benefits but the other is not injured or physically harmed)
• Parasitism (where one organism benefits to the injury of the other)

Clearly, an unborn baby can be Mutualism or Commensalism, but not Parasitism.  Steve James provides 10 reasons that contrast a pre-born baby from a parasite:

1. A parasite is an organism of one species that lives in or on an organism of another species and receives nourishment from the host.
2. Parasites are invasive organism that come from an outside or external source. A fetus comes from an inside or internal source (ie fertilized egg)
3. Parasites are generally harmful to the hosts, fetuses may make a pregnant woman experience adverse health effects, but not nearly to the same level that a parasite generally does.
4. A parasite makes direct contact with the host's living tissues. A fetus lives in the placenta, fed by the umbilical cord, both of which are fetal tissue (ie the cells come from the baby).
5. When a parasite invades a host, the host tissue will usually respond by encapsulating the parasite in order to cut it off from other surrounding tissue. In the case of a fetus, the mother’s tissue will create a lining tissue that connects, rather than cuts off contact with other tissues (placenta lining).
6. Parasites usually elicit a surge of antibodies as an immunological response. With the fetus, however, a mother’s trophoblast (the shell of cells surrounding the embryo) will naturally block these antibodies so as not to reject the fetus. This reaction is only found in the embryo-mother relationship.
7. A parasite will generally weaken the cellular reproductive capacity of the host.For a fetus, the effect is the opposite.
8. Parasites generally stay with the host for life, a fetus leaves upon birth.
9. Parasitical relationships are mostly harmful and unnecessary to the host, generally damaging the host in a variety of ways. A newborn (fetus post-birth) is very healthy for the mother, bringing benefits of an emotional, cognitive and chemical nature.
10. The most obvious one, a fetus is a human being in development. It will never become anything other than human. Even a first trimester fetus will have fully developed arms, legs, ears, facial features, sex organs and a functioning heart, as well as sufficient neurological development to feel pain. A parasite is not a human and never will be.

SLED:   Size, Level of development, Environment, Dependency

Abortionists and Pro-Choice supporters try to unjustly discriminate against, and rationalize away the inalienable rights & value of a pre-born baby by false logic.

SLED is an acronym for the 4 strongest arguments in favor of life and human rights for pre-born babies.

Size      There is a continuum of growth from the moment of fertilization to human adulthood (approx. age of 19 years of age).  Some people  are only 4 ft. tall, while others are 7 ft. tall.  There is no logic for choosing an arbitrary point at which we become human.

Level of Development      Similar to size, our capabilities (strength, intelligence, knowledge, awareness, emotional maturity, wisdom, etc.) grow on a continuum from fertilization through all our life.  There is no logic for choosing an arbitrary point at which we become human.

Environment      The fertilized egg or pre-born baby is inside a special environment of the mother's womb for its first 9 months, separated from the "real world" by the 7" of the birth canal.  During this 9 months, the baby continuously breathes in & out its amniotic fluid.  An astronaut, sky diver, scuba diver, swimmer, cave explorer, hard rock miner, and others are in special environments too; but are not eligible to be killed nor lose their humanity while in those special environments.

Dependency     A fertilized egg and pre-born baby are dependent upon its mother to protect and provide for them during the 9 month pregnancy.  By having sex, the mother has responsibility for the pregnancy she caused, aided, or acquiesced towards.  A guardian cannot turn a blind eye to a life threatening situation of its ward; a duty of care is owed. Senior citizens, accident victims, the sick, infants, and toddlers are all dependent upon 1 or more caregivers; and cannot be arbitrary killed nor have their human rights taken away.  Civilized society must protect the weak.

Final Arguments

Finally, pregnancy is a temporary inconvenience for the mother at worst, as she can put her baby up for adoption after the birth of the baby.  Do we allow parents to kill or abandon their children because its difficult, the child will have a difficult life, or parents change their mind about being a parent?  For similar reasons, a pre-born baby must be allowed to continue.

The man contributed half of the genetic material that formed the baby, so it isn't just the woman's decision about what happens to a pre-born baby.  If rape or incest caused the pregnancy, by all means punish the perpetrator, but the pre-born baby that may result is innocent of all crimes, and should not be punished for the crimes of its parent.

A few facts on a Pre-Born baby:

• At Day 1 after egg fertilization, a pre-born baby's brain begins to develop.
• At Day 14, any monozygotic twins have already formed, so we have 1 or more unique individuals hereinafter.
• After 16 days the neural tube (precursor of spinal cord and brain) has formed.
• At 22 days, a pre-born baby's heart begins to beat.
• By Week 5, the first spinal nerve synapses begin to form.
• At Week 8, the heart is completely formed.
• By 12 weeks, the baby can display muscle reflexes, and respond to environmental stimuli.
• A healthy baby begins sucking their thumb at 12 weeks after fertilization.
• Pre-born babies of 21 weeks gestation have survived birth and are now healthy toddlers.
• Somewhere around Week 20 to 24, pain is felt and responded to by pre-born baby.
• Late trimester babies can respond to familiar sounds (eg. mother's heartbeat) and smells (ie. its own amniotic fluid). 
• Anthony Kenny argues that a pre-born baby individualism can be derived from everyday beliefs and language and one can legitimately say "if my mother had had an abortion six months into her pregnancy, she would have killed me" then one can reasonably infer that at six months the "me" in question would have been an existing person with a valid claim to life. Since division of the zygote into twins through the process of monozygotic twinning can occur until the fourteenth day of pregnancy, Kenny argues that individual identity is obtained at this point and thus abortion is not permissible after two weeks.
• Some argue that human life is only unique and obtains personhood based upon consciousness, capacity to feel pain, ability to communicate, reasoning, self-motivation, self-awareness, brain waves or higher brain functions, rationality, and autonomy.  All or most of these proposed criteria fail to contrast a pre-born baby from a 1 yr old baby, senior citizen, or similar (ie. if those reasons are alleged to be adequate to prevent the killing of a newly born infant,  2 yr old toddler, senior citizen, accident victim in a reversible coma, etc.; then those same reasons should be adequate to prevent the killing of a pre-born baby).
• Pregnancies that threaten the mother's life, or involved incest, or rape represent less than 2% of all abortions.

What Does God Say About All This?

Before the first abortion occurred, God knew that wicked humans would dream up a wicked solution to solve or hide his sexual sin.

God is all about life and truth.

Satan is all about death and sin. Guess where abortion originated from, and who constantly supports abortion?

God's objection to abortion is demonstrated by the Bible.  The key verses are as follows:

 [James 4:17 KJV] 17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth [it] not, to him it is sin.

In other word, we sin if we know and turn a blind eye towards the sin, rather than rebuke it and fight against it.

[Psa 138:8 KJV] 8 The LORD will perfect [that which] concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, [endureth] for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

God made us at conception, then turned over His handiwork to our moher's womb.

[Psa 139:13-16 NIV] 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

God created each of us, and our entire lives were written about in God's Book of Life before we were born.

[Jhn 10:10 KJV] 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.

God creates life and truth.  The thief (ie. Satan) comes to steal, lie, & kill.

[Jer 1:5 KJV] 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, [and] I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

God knew all about us, each and every one of us, before He created us with His spark of life at conception.

[Gal 1:15 KJV] 15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called [me] by his grace,

God created each of us for a purpose in this world.  When the baby is killed, the world loses the planned benefits from that baby, and God's good works are stymied.

[Exo 20:13 KJV] 13 Thou shalt not kill.

This includes babies and the un-born.

[Exo 21:22 KJV] 22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart [from her], and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges [determine].

If a man injures a pregnant woman, and the un-born baby dies but the woman lives, then the husband of the pregnant woman may punish the negligent man as he sees fit, and the Court may fine the accused man also.

[Exo 21:23 KJV] 23 And if [any] mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,

If the pregnant woman dies or is seriously injured from the incident [Exodus 21:22, see above], then the accused man is punished on an equal basis.

[Luk 1:15 KJV] 15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

God and the Holy Ghost is involved in conception from conception.

[Gen 25:21-23 KJV] 21 And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she [was] barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If [it be] so, why [am] I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD. 23 And the LORD said unto her, Two nations [are] in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and [the one] people shall be stronger than [the other] people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

God knows what is going on inside every womb.

[Mat 1:18 KJV] 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

God can conceive a child inside a woman's womb without a man's involvement.

Conclusion

We therefore conclude that abortion is wrong, and needs to stop.

Why Christianity?

Christians are accused of arrogance, judgemental attitudes, and exaggeration when we insist that Christianity and Jesus Christ is fully sufficient in of itself, and exclusively the only true religion.

Nobody needs anything more than Jesus Christ.

For example, a convicted thief met Jesus Christ while they were beside each other; each on their own cross of crucifixion.  There was no time for baptism, prayers, communion, nor any other religious dogma.  The thief accepted that Jesus was the Son of God, and asked Jesus to remember him when Jesus reached Heaven.  Jesus assured the thief that he would be with Jesus in Heaven.  Simple as that.

Christianity is exclusive.  That means that only Christianity offers a guaranteed entrance into Heaven for all those who truly believe in Jesus.  Of course, true believer follow God's Laws, and Jesus' teachings, and do not chronically practice sin.

Jesus performed miracles so that people would recognize Him as God.  The Bible describes 37 miracles, and states in John 21:25 that many more were done, beyond these 37 miracles.

There are 44 prophecies in the Old Testament which predicted and described the life of Jesus Christ (see Bible37Miracles44PropheciesOfJesusChrist ).  These prophecies were made during a period from 4,000 BC to 150 BC.  These Old Testament prophecies are supported by the historical writings by Prophets, first and second hand witnesses of the life of Jesus Christ (Jesus' Apostles, Disciples, and others), as well as Roman, Greek, Jewish, and other historians who were alive at that time.

By all of this evidence, it is reasonable to conclude all of the objective evidence points to Jesus Christ being a real, historical person who did numerous miracles, claimed to be God, convinced thousands of people that He was God, lived a righteous life, made numerous prophecies that all came true, was falsely convicted, crucified, died, was buried, and ascended to Heaven 3 days after His death.

To conclude anything else is to ignore the strong, irrefutable objective facts that we have in our possession today.

If someone performs miracles and rises from the dead, I have made a personal policy decision to believe them when they claim to be God.  I suggest you do likewise.

Other World Religions

Muslims are required to do continual prayers and good works.  Islam claims that Allah takes note of all events in a person's life, assigning weights (good or bad) to every event, then Allah decides if a person has done sufficient good works to warrant heaven.  You never know, until it's too late, how Allah will decide your case.

Hindu claims reincarnation, but who decides if you get to move up or down; worm, dog, bird, human, or something else.  In the end, you can cycle around and around forever, never exiting from the reincarnation cycle.

Atheism is a belief in the empty null set, that no God exists; one shot through life, then nothing.  Agnostics aren't sure about God, and can continuously raise another doubt to procrastinate their final decision about God still longer.  Either way, they get to do as they please with no absolute limits on their thoughts, words, or deeds; except as they choose to self-impose.

We have discussed 3 major religions, there are 4 more to consider for a total of 7 major world religions.

No other world religion offers what Christianity offers.

Some religions make spurious, non-verifiable claims.  Only Christianity has the Bible to support and verify all claims made.

If it sounds too good to be true, it likely is untrue.  Buyer beware of non-Christian religions!

Comparison Shopping

With the power of the Internet, people can easily do comparison shopping.  You can more easily find the product, style, colour, features, price, and other characteristics that you seek without leaving home.  While you may compare Walmart vs. Amazon, is it OK to compare all the world religions before choosing one?

I am not sure if it's a sin to compare all the different religions before choosing one specific religion to follow.  However Christianity is not a smorgasbord, where you can pick or choose what goes on your plate, for your own customized version of Christianity.

If you try to pick and choose the aspects of Christianity you like, and reject the parts you don't like, then you are creating your own false god; not the God of the Bible. A "cult" is defined as a religion that does not accept all Biblical doctrine, or adds additional doctrines to the Bible.

Mormons claim they believe in Jesus Christ, but the Mormon Jesus, as described in the Book of Mormon and other Mormon doctrine is not the same Jesus as described in the Bible.

Muslims claim to believe in the Prophet Jesus Christ.  However the Jesus described in the Qu'ran is not the same as the Jesus described in the Bible.  Allah is not the same as God of the Bible.

Worshiping a non-Bible Jesus is blasphamy.  Creating your own custom designed god is also blasphemy, and contrary to the 2nd Commandment (see Exodus 20:3):

Thou shalt have no other gods before Me [God].

True Christians believe in:

• the Jesus Christ described in the Bible
• the teachings of Jesus Christ described in the Bible, and
• the Commandments of God as described in the Bible (see the 20 Commandments for Christians).

Full stop, no additions, no deletions.  The New Testament describes all of this.  If you're missing one of more of these,  you are not a True Christian; you're a mirage, a make-believe Christian, a false Christian, an imposter.

Fake Christians

Jesus can see all of your heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit.  Jesus knows if you are a True Christian, or a fake.  In Matthew 7:20-23, Jesus Christ said:

"Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, 'Lord, Lord', shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in Heaven.  Many will say to me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?'  

And then will I profess unto them, 'I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.'  "

Iniquity is unrepented, chronic sin.  Iniquity is deadly.  Iniquity annuls your status of "Born Again".  Those who practice iniquity will be thrown into the Lake of Fire, to be burned and tormented for ever and ever.

Contrasting with the above, when True Christians reach Heaven, True Christians will hear Jesus Christ say something similar to Matthew 25:23:

 "Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."

Buying The Whole, Indivisible Jesus Christ

Jesus believed, quoted from, and included the Old Testament in His teachings.  In Matthew 5:17-18, Jesus said:

 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.  For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

If you profess that you believe in Jesus, and Jesus is described by the New Testament, and in the New Testament, Jesus supported and included the Old Testaments, then we conclude that believing in Jesus requires believe in both the Old Testament and the New Testament.  Therefore true Christians believe in the whole Bible.

If a sect, denomination, Pastor, Priest, or Minister adds or subtracts or denies all or part of the Bible, then they are not true Christians.

Properly Interpreting the Christian Bible

The Bible is an essential part of Christianity.  Therefore properly interpreting the Bible is essential.

However, everyone must regard the speaker, the intended audience, and proper context of the Bible, so as to rightly divide the Word as 2 Timothy 2:15 says:

"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

We don't impose definitions upon the Bible, we let the Bible define itself.  We don't propose interpretations in one verse that conflict with other verses.  We seek two or three witnesses to consistently agree so as to settle Biblical doctrine.

Biblical word study and doctrine takes hard work, patience, logic, and in depth study to apprehend the infinite nature of God in our insufficient mortal minds.

God will reveal the important aspects, while the finer points may remain mysteries.

While we can apprehend the essentials about God, we won't be able to fully comprehend God.  That's where faith comes in.

Act Now While You Still Can

There isn't much time left, as the Great Tribulation will soon begin (sometime between now & Nov. 1, 2019 ???).

Every second, approximately 2 people die somewhere on Earth (approximately 164,000 people per day).  Their sudden, unexpected death is likely a shock to the ones affected.

Once you die, it's too late to accept Jesus as your Saviour.  Procrastination is fatal to the infinite power of eternity.  A big mistake!

If you aren't Born Again before you die, you are guaranteed a 1-way ticket to Hell.

I don't want you to go to Hell.  I am a good and faithful Watchman, who wants to warn you of the danger so I don't have your blood on my hands.  If you don't heed the Watchman's warning, your blood will be on your own hands.

Come to Jesus.  Come today.  Come now, before it's too late.

God Survey

There have been some huge changes in the religious beliefs of Canadians during my lifetime.   The pace of change is accelerating faster and faster.  Why is this occurring, and what does it mean?

According to the 2017 CROP Panorama survey of 6,288 Canadians surveyed, only 65% of us still believe there is a God.

In 2005, there used to be 81% of Canadians who believed.  That is a 2.02%/yr drop on average over this 11 year period.  This exponential decay rate cuts the number of believers in half every 35 years.

But what kind of God do people believe in?

Figure 2 shows that in 2016, just 22% believe the dogma taught by their chosen religion.  In 1998, it used to be 36% who believed the dogma of their organized religion.

The biggest group believes in a god they fashioned for themselves.  This is sometimes referred to as a "Smorgasbord god", where you pick and choose the various aspects and characteristics of the God you wish to believe in; a customized god exactly to your liking.  In this way, your god can always be pleased about you, for your Designer god likes and supports everything you choose to do, or refrain from doing.  Of course, your customized god is not the God of the Bible, but you're OK with that.  It is curious that this freedom god choice has declined since 1998.

N.B.   When you create your own customized god, this is worshiping an idol you created in your own mind.  You are not worshiping the one true God of the Bible.  This is sin contrary to God's Commandment #2 (You shall not make for yourself any idol, nor bow down to it or worship it.).  Now, back to our surveys.

The third type of god is "A force of which we are all part"; a pantheism where Mother Earth, every rock, tree, and life on the planet communes with all us humans, and us with them.  Exactly what this means, I am not sure, but it appears to be some modern (or ancient) form of Spiritualism.  This has significantly increased since 1998, growing at 3.7%/yr, doubling and re-doubling every 19.1 years.

The fourth type of god is the Atheistic Materialism defined by "Life is a purely biological phenomena".  In 1998, this was just 7% of the people, but has grown to be 20% of the population in 2016, a growth rate of 6%/yr on average; doubling and re-doubling every 11.7 years.

How strong are these beliefs in god?

In Figure 3 for 2017, only 21% said their religious beliefs were very important to them.  Of those who felt it was very important or somewhat important was a total of 49% of people surveyed.

Figure 4 shows the trend in strength of religious beliefs has been dropping like a stone since Year 2000, dropping at 7.36%/yr on average; halfing and halfing again every 9.5 years.

As religious beliefs get watered down by customized god, Spirituality, or Darwinistic Materialism, we get the double whammy effect as all religious beliefs become less and less important in the life of the average Canadian.

As a business consultant and marketing expert, their usual advice to a business would be to "understand the customer's needs, then serve those needs".  In their report and Blog, CROP says:

"If they [the Church] want to stay socially relevant, these institutions have some serious catching up to do to get back in sync with people's values."

 In the USA, 63% are absolutely certain about their belief in God.

In Europe, it's even worse.

Figure 5 shows that Romania ("Rou" on map, dark blue colour code) is the most religious country, where 55% of adults say they are highly religious, 50% say religion is important in their lives, 50% attend a worship service at least monthly, 44% pray daily, and 64% believe in God with absolute certainty.

Estonia ("EST' on map, light blue colour code) is the least religious country, where 7% of adults say they are highly religious, 6% say religion is important in their lives, 10% attend a worship service at least monthly, 9% pray daily, and only 13% believe in God with absolute certainty.

We have a lot of work in front of us if we are going to save the majority so as to get them to Heaven.

Does God Exist? How about Satan?

There are many atheists, agnostics, and sleepy people who think they know that God doesn't, exist, or not sure, or don't care one way or another.  For these people, I present the following picture as rock solid, undeniable proof that God exists.

To be able to be on a criminal jury on Earth, you must be sane, aware, adult, able to think and reason, and unbiased against the accused, the judicial system, and the crime to which the accused is charged.  I suggest those same qualities are required here for my evidence..  If you are unwilling or unable to be a reasonable, aware, thinking, logical, and unbiased adult, you will be wasting your time to continue reading this Blog; move along on your personal business.

Here is my evidence for your consideration:

Figure 1:  Evidence for the Existence of God

The toddling girl is cute running on the green grass, and reminds Christians of God's creation, and all its wonders.  However, I ask you to look deeper.  Why is the grass significantly darker in an unique shape, like a stretched out version of the little girl?  This dark area instantly moves on a 1:1 mapping of the little girl as she runs, always staying in perfect harmony. We usually call this dark area the girl's shadow.

The shadow is evidence of a strong light source off-image, behind the camera.  In this case, the strong light source is likely the Sun.  Everything in our life experience tells us that strong light source is there, assuming the photo has not been doctored so as to deceive.  While we cannot see the strong light source in the picture, we have strong secondary evidence that this light source exists.

If that strong light source did not exist, we would not be able to have a shadow.  The shadow proves the existence of the strong light source.

God is light.

Satan is darkness, like a shadow or worse; ultimately a Black Hole that sucks in and destroys everything that comes near it.

Black is an absence of light. By analogy, evil is an absence of good.  The existence of Evil proves a localized absence or diminishing of God. Hell is an absence of God, or a separating from God.  Evil may imply or suggest Satan exists, but is not conclusive proof.

The existence of a shadow proves that sunshine exists.  By analogy, evil proves the existence of good. Therefore the existence of evil proves the existence of God.

If you have sunshine, you don't always have a shadow.  On Earth, that is called Laihaina Noon, a specific point on the globe and time when the sun is directly overhead, at right angles to the Earth's surface (ie. subsolar point).  Laihaina Noon photos look weird to us, like they have been altered by Photoshop.  Therefore, sunshine can exist without shadows.  By analogy, God can exist without Satan. 

We live in a fallen world which has been delegated to be under Satan's rule and control.  Very soon, Satan's lease will expire, and Jesus Christ will regain full and final control of His creation.

Humans are like tenants or squatters, living in God's creation.  When the landlord Satan is fired and the owner takes over the landlord's former duties, the tenants had better be sure they are following the rules, and behave themselves.  Tenants are at risk of being tossed out of their apartment, and into Hell Fires due to:   a) former bad behaviour that the Owner reads about in the landlord's written records; or b) By the tenant's chronic and continuing bad behaviour today.  Either way, everybody is at risk if they do not repent and seek forgiveness from the Owner for their sins of the squatter or tenant.

Jesus Christ has already started his End Times process.  There is precious little time left for you to wake up and get right with God.  Please help yourself, as well as all your family and friends, and neighbours by carefully considering this message, and passing the link along to others so they have a last minute chance to save themselves.

If you're not sure, send everybody a link to this Blog, saying:

  "I found this on the Internet.  I'm not sure about this, what do you think?"

That way, you minimize your risk, maximize your input of data and opinions.  Even if everybody disagrees, you will have to make your own decision.  That will require awareness, courage, and some careful thinking.  Jesus said the majority will take the comfortable path to Hell, so beware.

High Alert: God's Judgement Soon (June 17 2019)

June 17, 2019 2:02 PM EDT

I issue a maximum alert for all Christians, and all others.  There is a high probability of God's Judgement occurring on or soon after 2019 Summer Solstice, which is June 18, 2019.  The time is likely synchronized to Jerusalem sunrise, which occurs at 5:05 AM Jerusalem Time (GMT+3), 7 hrs ahead of EDT.  Therefore our deadline is likely 10:05 PM tonight (June 17, 2019).

This alert is based upon the warning of Yahushua (Jesus Christ) as prophesied by Julie Whedbee on Behold I Come ( see https://iamcallingyounow.blogspot.com/2019/06/a-radical-and-irreversible-change-is.html ).

Secondly, the ancient cities of Sodom, Gomorrah, and Zeboim were destroyed by God via fire and brimstone from Heaven on or soon after the 1st day of the 4th month (in 2019, the anniversary would be June 18th), as described in the Book of Jubilee 16:1-7  (Note:  "new moon" should be interpreted as the first day of the calendar month, NOT the phase of the Moon).

Therefore I highly recommend getting right with God before 10:05 PM EDT today (June 17, 2019).

If Judgement doesn't start as early as June 17th, it could be as late as July 18th (end of 4th month).

How To Get Right With God 

So far, I understand that if we want to be Raptured to Heaven as Jesus' Crown Jewels, we must:

1. Believe in Jesus Christ, His crucifixion, death, 3 day burial, and resurrection to Heaven as the Lord & Saviour of all sinners.
   
    
2. Be Born Again (Confess your sins, repent, ask Jesus to save you, turn away from sin, turn towards God, ask Jesus to send His Holy Spirit to fill up your soul)
   
    
3. Do His 20 Commandments for Christians (see this Blog Page or download copy )
   
    
4. Disconnect ourselves from Satan's world (eg. no more Internet, sports, news, bars, drinking, drugs, partying, shopping, malls, music, Hollywood, love of money, excessive worldly possessions, etc.)
   
    
5. Use God's calendar (not Satan's).  See Zadok-Enoch-Jubilees Head of Summer calendar https://youtu.be/KMLHPresPBw
   
6. Testify to everybody as to our Christian faith in a bold, loud & proud of Jesus Christ way (eg. like modern John the Baptist) so as to bring the unsaved to Jesus. (Baptism of Fire)

If you are not interested in the above 6 steps to get right with God, or you procrastinate too long, you will then have only 2 other options, as follows:

The Hard Way

Be left behind on Earth until you learn to do all the above 6 steps while passing through God's Judgements and Satan's persecution for the next 3.5 years, until you are captured, killed, or martyred for Jesus (imprisoned, beaten, tortured, and eventually beheaded by Satan's evil forces).

Satan's Way

Give up on Jesus, go with the flow, and join Satan.  Satan and his world government will likely require you to take the Mark of the Beast and worship Satan (and/or Satan's Beast).  Satan will likely ignore you (or possibly help you) as long as you remain useful to Satan, but at some point in time during the next 3.5 years, Satan will turn on you, destroy you, or dump you cold.  Once you accept the Mark of the Beast and worship Satan, it cannot be reversed nor undone, you will be Satan's deciple forever after.  Once Jesus defeats Satan, your Mark of the Beast will guarantee you are judged guilty, then thrown into the Lake of Fire (Hell) to burn and be tormented forever & ever.

Biblical Rape: Reason to Reject God?

Some Atheists accuse God of immorality because atheists think God's Law supports rape.  Atheists say they have a much better moral standard than God because they know rape is wrong, and therefore want nothing to do with a God or God's Bible that promotes or condones rape.

Some Christians try to dodge that bullet by suggesting it wasn't really rape, it was just different dating and courting customs at that time; same or better than most other cultures at that time.   The rationalizations go on and on.

I was challenged today to explain and justify the Bible's commentary on rape.  The complainant specifically pointed out Deuteronomy 22:28-29 which says in the New International Version (NIV):

28 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.

Just so we get the historical perspective, 50 shekels of silver is approx. 575 grams of silver, worth about US $0.48/gram as of June 2019, or US $276.00 in today's money.  In Biblical times, Joseph was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers for 20 shekels. The Torah says that the owner of a bull that killed a slave has to pay 30 shekels. To lease a field of 75000 square amot (about 200,000 square feet, 4.6 acres, or 1.86 hectares) for 49 years was redeemed at 50 shekels.

Therefore, payment of 50 shekels of silver as a dowry for a rape victim was a substantial sum during Biblical times.

God didn't want divorce, but Moses asked God to allow a certificate of divorse.  During Biblical times, the divorce certificate was heavily used and abused, just as God knew it would.  Men had a bad habit of issuing a divorce certificate, then trading in their old wife for a newer model.  The former wife was tossed out on her ear, to fend for herself, often with no further support from her former husband.  As bad as that sounds, the Hebrew wife was generally regarded as better off and better treated than wives in most other cultures throughout the Mediterranean world at that time.

Note that in this case of rape, a man lost his right to divorce his "new wife by rape" for any and all reasons on a life-long basis.  Again, a significant consequence connected to the rape.

Does this verse from the Bible prove that God condones rape?

I don't think so.  Here's why.

God clearly states that rape is wrong and forbids it by his Commandments:

• In Deut 22:13, if a maid is discovered to not have been a virgin at marriage, she is to be stoned to death in front of her Father's house.  Fornication (sex outside marriage) is sin.  Rape would be an extreme form of fornication, an even worse sin.
   
•  In Exodus 20:15, God's 8th Commandment is "Thou shalt not steal."  A daughter would be seen as the property of the Father, and to take the daughter so as to steal her virginity would be sin.  Therefore rape is sin.

• In Exodus 20:17, God's 10th Commandment says "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's."  Obviously, for a man to rape a maiden, he coveted her, so again, rape is a sin.

Therefore we conclude that rape is clearly a sin.  Once the sin of rape has occurred, what should be done?

After a rape, we must think about the female who was raped, her family, the person who did the rape, his family, and society in general.

• The raped woman likely carries a lot of emotional baggage, PTSD, fear, trust issues, and so on from the terrible rape.  She may have been physically hurt, and/or infected with a STD (sexually transmitted disease), or emotionally injured.  She will likely be seen as "damaged goods" by her family, community, or prospective husbands, even if she was 100% faultless.  Who would marry her after this terrible crime had been inflicted upon her? If a solution is not had, a life is stunted, or wasted in a significant way.

• There may be a child conceived from the rape.  If the man is put to death for committing the rape, the child grows up without a father.  Today, children raised without a father is the #1 marker for poor social standing, poverty, delinquency, crime, and many other negative consequences (see here, here, here, and here).  In Biblical times, a child with no father was likely an early death sentence for both Mother and child.  Why should an innocent child be punished for the crimes of the father?

• The families of both the perpetrator and the victim will be significantly affected in reputation, recrimination, loss of reputation, social stigma, costs, loss of productivity, and similar negative outcomes.  The parents of both the man and woman might be indirectly blamed and held responsible for not raising their children properly, failing to adequately teach them to follow God's Law, failing to take adequate prevention measures, failing to adequately discipline their children before it was too late, and so on.

• The community is tarnished by the actions of one.  People may feel unsafe, or stigmatized by what occurred in their community, then seek to flee to a better community.  The entire town could be significantly affected if a key person vacates.

I suggest that God seeks to minimize sin, and minimize the negative consequences from sin.  Rape is a huge upset to safety, trust, and freedom; both in Biblical times, and today. 

 Because emotions would be running high after a rape has occurred, rash actions might cause additional sin to occur via mob action or blood vendetta, with even more negative consequences.  Therefore a prescriptive solution from God would help to calm the situation and help prevent further escalation.

I therefore suggest that Deut 22:28-29 is God's solution to the sin of rape so as to minimize sin, minimize negative consequences, and promote healing.

Through God's solution to the sin of rape, the man is economically punished (ie. 50 shekel dowry), so as to discourage others to sin in a similar manner.  The man is forced to support and help his wife and child for the rest of his life.  The man is barred from ever divorcing his new "wife by rape".  The woman and possible child are protected from economic hardship, as the man must care for them and support them for the rest of his life.

Contrary to Biblical times and God's optimum solution, the rapist in today's world will likely be sent to prison for many years at a high cost to society.  The rapist will have destroyed his life's potential forever (or at least decades) as he will be a convict, and likely a registered sex offender for the rest of his life.  This will shrink or destroy his possible job prospects for a long time, or forever.  The woman, if she becomes pregnant, will likely be counseled to have an abortion, thereby killing an innocent pre-born person, and adding further trauma to the woman.  Both sets of parents are tarnished by the rape.  This is a lose-lose-lose outcome for everybody.

Perhaps, in the little time we have left before End Times arrives, we might want to reconsider God's solution to rape by God's restorative justice as defined by Deut 22:28-29.

I therefore conclude that God prohibits rape, proposes an optimum solution of restorative justice when the sin of rape occurs, and this allegation of atheists and others against God and Christianity is false.

Therefore I call upon atheists to stop blaming God and their blasphemy against God.  Atheists should admit this allegation of rape culture against God was merely another excuse they used to avoid the responsibility imposed upon them by God's 10 Commandments.

Atheists should admit they are sinners, repent and forsake their sins, apologize to God for their sins, turn away from their sins and turn towards God, believe in Jesus Christ and that He died on the cross so as to pay for the sins of all humans who believe in Him, and ask for Jesus Christ to come into your life as your Saviour so that you make have eternal life and avoid Hell.

In this day of rampant sin, chronic atheism, #metoo and radical feminism, I'm sure there are many who take offense to what I have written here.  Feel free to comment to your heart's content.

Sunday June 2, 2019 is likely Christian D-Day

I woke up around June 2016, after I heard about the Sept. 23, 2017 celestial alignment and Revelation 12 prophecy.

If you're reading this, you are likely awake; how long you've been awake, I don't know.

I have come to trust God.  Subsequently, I found Julie Whedbee who Blogs about God, and her visions and conversations with God.

Julie's latest posting of May 26 2019 deserves your attention:

She says translation of Jesus' First Fruits (His crown jewels) is soon upon us.

I believe Jesus is referring to Pentecost 2019, the Latter Day Rain.

I believe that Enoch's Calendar, with days running from sunrise to sunrise, with each New Year starting on the Wednesday next occurring after the day of equilux (12 hrs light, 12 hrs darkness) at Jerusalem Israel is the correct calendar of God.

Therefore, I believe that Pentecost 2019 falls on June 2, 2019.

Note that many Nominal Christians, Jews, MSM, and most others wrongly think that Pentecost is on June 9, 2019.  I believe it's on Sunday June 2, 2019.  I believe some will receive God's Latter Day Rain on this day, starting sometime after sunrise at Jerusalem Israel, likely continuing as the sunrise circles the globe from there.

Jesus says that for the purpose of His End Times process, you and everybody else will fall into one of 4 different categories as of that moment:

1. First Fruits (Jesus' crown jewels) who believe in Him, follow His Commandments, and have isolated themselves from Satan's World so as to focus 100% on Jesus' Word, and His Kingdom.  Some of these people have finished their duties and will soon go to Heaven to be with Jesus.  Others will be Sealed and remain on Earth to finish their Holy Work during the Tribulation Period.
2. Sealed Tribulation Saints who are wanting &/or trying to be a "True Christian", but they are still mucking about in Satan's world, and haven't yet adequately cleansed themselves.  They need to clean up their act ASAP, as the Eternal clock is ticking.  Because they are Sealed, Satan can't steal them from God, but they can still miss Heaven because they fail to get their act together in time.
3. The Nominal Christians, non-Christians, pagans, Muslims, Buddhists, Spiritualistic persons, chronic sinners, agnostics, theists, deists, confused, apathetics, atheists, and those of similar ilk.  Jesus says they are in the Valley of Decision.  They are soon in for the shock of their life.  Wise wags say there are no atheists in foxholes when the shelling and machine gun fire starts.  You 'aint seen nothing yet.  These people have the farthest to go, but can still make it if they truly want to change quickly.  Because of their wayward lives, the Spiritual Rules of Engagement say these people are like wild game in the woods during open hunting season for Satan and his demons to plunder, running over, blowing up, shooting, netting, spearing, poisoning, or trapping them at will.  While you may have started in Category 3, you can choose to:  a) Live by the sword, die by the sword;   or b) Surrender or be Captured (then be given 10 days to join Satan or be killed by torture &/or beheading);   or c) Escape, Survive, & Endure.  Until its too late, everyone in Category 3 can decide to become a True Christian, then perfect their daily practice of their new-found faith; hopefully completing all mandatory steps before the final buzzer sounds.  A few people may be able to evade Satan for the 7 year Tribulation period, but nobody (not even Satan himself) will be able to evade Jesus Christ in the end.  People in this Category had better hurry up and pledge allegiance to Jesus (get in Category 2 ASAP), then start perfecting their practice of Christianity; or else!
4. The Lost, Damned, and Satan's Choice.  They lost their souls long ago, and/or are (&/or will soon will be) demon possessed, and likely hopeless.
